Coull Collabs - About Us

Our Story

We are Emma & Lauren, a female-owned business and a queer married couple with art ingrained into our souls. Our journey started with a deep love for creativity, community, and sustainability. Surrounded by talented makers and artists – from those upcycling furniture to those creating beautiful paintings and sculptures – we realized there was a way to support them and bring their artistry to the forefront.

Why We Started This Business

We wanted to create a space that celebrates the incredible makers in Edinburgh and the Lothians by spotlighting their work and giving them the time they need to create. This meant we had to step in and remove some of the stress that comes with being a creator, so they can focus on what they do best: making art. Our mission is to make sustainable shopping more accessible while showcasing high-quality, handmade products – no cheap knick-knacks here! We believe in offering beautiful items that are ethical, sustainable, and meaningful.

Supporting Local Makers

The artistic community around us is full of extraordinary talent, and we want to give them the visibility they deserve. From upcycled furniture to stunning paintings, we curate a collection of products that speak to the heart of sustainability and craftsmanship. We carefully vet all our makers and artists, so our customers can shop with confidence, knowing that their purchases are not only unique but also made with care for the planet and its inhabitants.

Our Commitment to Sustainability & Ethics

When you shop with us, you’re not just buying a product – you’re supporting ethical, sustainable, and cruelty-free practices. None of our products are tested on animals. We allow animal fabrics such as leather only if they were already in circulation and are being upcycled. This means we do not accept products that use new animal products at all. Our approach ensures that we’re keeping the circular economy in mind, reusing what’s already out there, rather than supporting new animal exploitation.

We are also committed to being completely plastic-free. All our packaging is plastic-free, and we accept products made from plastic only if they are reusing plastic already in circulation. We do not endorse the plastic industry, so we do not accept new plastic in any capacity – such as polyester, plastic sealants, or Polyclay. Everything we offer is carefully curated with sustainability at the core, ensuring you can shop guilt-free while supporting responsible practices.

Shop with Confidence

We invite you to browse our collection of locally made, ethically sourced, and sustainable products. Our goal is to make shopping a joyful experience while supporting the incredible makers who pour their hearts into their craft.
